PROBATE CONSERVATORSHIP

Probate Conservatorship is a legal act in which judge appoints someone, called a conservator, to care for another adult who cannot care for himself/ herself, called a conservatee. There are conservator of  a person, who cares for and protects a person and  conservator of estate , who handles a conservatee's financial matters. To obtain a conservatorship  a person has to file a petition of appointment of Probate Conservator. Conservatorship will end with the death of the conservatee. Also,  the judge will terminate the conservatorship, either because the conservatee is now deemed able to handle his or her own affairs, or because all of the assets of the conservatorship estate have been exhausted towards the conservatee's care.
